Skip to content of the administrative and direct care staff members at Gateway Arts continue to have professional art backgrounds, teaching, and experience in providing human services.  Gateway offers the relatively rare opportunity of combining the arts with human services.  Many staff have attained Master’s degrees and/or have years of experience.  Staff members provide the day-to-day vocational and artistic mentoring that forms the backbone of the programs services.

Gateway also provides a wide array of professional opportunities through our well organized volunteer, internship, and work-study program.  This program provides direct experience working with people with a variety of special needs, including by not limited to, developmental and psychiatric disabilities, head injury, autism, visual and hearing deficits, learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders.

Interns, Work-study students and Volunteers: Experience in fine arts and crafts is desirable but not required.  Gateway provides all required documentation for your educational program on a timely basis, as well as a reference for future employment and/or graduate school.  Mentoring or career planning provided on request.

Position Title: Artist / Teaching / Administrator

Full time position available at Gateway Arts, a non-profit nationally recognized studio art center for over 100 adults with disabilities.
Manage an arts based studio rehabilitation service for more than 20 artists with psychiatric and other disabilities. Provide art and jewelry facilitation and critiques.
Administrative duties include: clinical coordination, billing, contracting, recruitment for services with funding sources, and regular reporting.
This self starter should have a strong art background, human services experience and be a team player with leadership capabilities and have excellent writing skills.  Benefits.   Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
