The Gateway Gallery is proud to present New England Landmarks. This is a themed exhibition featuring Gateway artists’ renderings of landmarks: “objects or features of a landscape or town easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially ones that enable someone to establish their location.” Artists utilized the same size canvases to respond to the exhibitions theme, selecting landmarks of both well known, historical significance, and personal significance to them.
“The way each of the artists responded to the prompt was in and of itself revealing” shared Marketing Specialist Justine Portmann Katz. “Recognizing well known landmarks and unearthing the significance behind the more personal landmarks was equally fascinating.”

The opening reception for New England Landmarks was held on Sunday, June 10th, 2017 from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. The event coincided with the annual Brookline Village Fair and The Gateway Store Summer Sale Kickoff. The multiple events attracted hundreds of Gateway artists, staff, friends, family, supporters, and art-lovers. The exhibition was very well received, with many pieces being sold. Fifty-four of the paintings were selected to be reproduced into a deck of cards, soon to be available for purchase in The Gateway Store.
