Stephen De Fronzo, Artistic Director of Gateway Arts is stepping down. For the past 35 years, he has been a key member of a team that has created this model studio art center for individuals with disabilities; comprised of art studios, a store, and gallery. Beginning in 1987 as a studio art facilitator, De Fronzo has worked with Rae Edelson, Director of Gateway Arts, to expand the service and facility, accommodating more than 100 artists annually, through the non-profit human service provider, Vinfen. By working with collectors, arts organizations, museum curators, and gallerists locally, across the country and around the world, he has made the Gateway Arts vision and mission a reality by giving artists with disabilities a voice in the mainstream art world.
