“The challenge of art for me is to find ways to continually grow. I have been able to use art to understand myself better and appreciate others, nature, and surroundings. “

Jane Tarlow was raised in Brockton, Massachusetts and currently resides in Brookline, Massachusetts. She has been working at Gateway Arts, since February of 1996. Tarlow began painting with watercolors as a child and often used cats, trees, flowers and the sky as subject matter. As an adult, she worked as a florist for several years, and that influence is visible in her artwork. Tarlow has found painting as a way of expressing and dealing with difficult feelings. Tarlow’s subject matter varies, however it can often be self reflective.

Tarlow’s work has been exhibited at the Gateway Gallery, the Lincoln Gallery at Beaver County Day School, the Clark Gallery in Lincoln, and The Sherrill House, Boston, MA. Additionally she has contributed to an art-fashion show at the Avalon and has participated in Brookline Open Studios.
