“My mother taught me knitting, needlework and sewing when I was young. As an adult, I still enjoy knitting and needlework. I started making jewelry in 1996, when someone suggested that I try it. Soon after, I began looking for a program where I could have more time and space dedicated to making jewelry. When I heard about Gateway Arts, I immediately knew that it was the place I was looking for. During the past years, I have been making and selling my work at Gateway. I like making jewelry very much; I enjoy the process as well the final product. Making jewelry has become a passion of mine.”

Judy Phillips was born in Dorchester, MA in 1947. She grew up in Newton, MA with her parents and sister. Since 2001, she has been working at Gateway creating jewelry with delicate design qualities. Phillips began creating and selling art because she enjoys the creative process.
